DarlaDauth: The western coast of Aaliron, referred to by some as the Jagged Coast, for it beaches were full of rocks and shallow waters, a near graveyard for ships. Darla stood on that coast, looking out across the ocean. The wind from the sea
DarlaDauth: swept her dark cloak back, revealing her riding pants, a hue of cream, tucked into her leather boots. The boots were a deep shade of blue, much as her cloak and blouse. Dark eyes watched carefullly, ensuring no other ships were
DarlaDauth: approaching unintentionally. She wasn't hoping for any more visitors.
Chandlers Loss: Chandler hated sand. He hated beaches and generally hated bodies of water. Being so tiny, the little elf had a much harder time than human-sized people traveling in these conditions, and due to the rocks making it difficult for
Chandlers Loss: him to even see where he was going. Why he came here...he never knew. Usually because he'd made a wrong turn and gotten distracted. Covered in the wet sand, the little one wandered near Darla, unaware that there was someone even
Chandlers Loss: near by. He was also not the best with making out colors at times. After a few more difficult steps, he approached a big, thick wall. Quirking a brow, he looked it over, trying to decide whether or not to climb over it or go
Chandlers Loss: around it. Little did he know that this wall-boulder was actually the footwear of one of the 'giant' sized people of this new area! -d-
DarlaDauth: Most people would be unaware of a creature so small. But Darla. Well, she was far from normal. She was the last of the Shaman Clan in Aaliron, so far as she knew in the very least. Although her energies were focused on the distant
DarlaDauth: ocean waves, she was aware of the small creature. Feeling it run into her foot, she looked up curiously from her transe like gaze, but saw nothing. An invisible enemy? Had another Shaman survived the war? Darla spun about quickly,
DarlaDauth: boots likely become quite a hazard for the small elf.
Chandlers Loss: Chandler nearly yelped, scrambling away as what he thought was a stagnant wall suddenly lifted and began moving rather quickly. Diving down and covering his head, he waited until he felt that 'wall' land behind him, and looked up
Chandlers Loss: to see that he was safe, sort of. A better perspective now showed him there were two of these walls, very nearby, and on either side of him! With his head down, he tried to come up with a plan. -d-
DarlaDauth: It was the strangest thing. The Shaman closed her eyes. She felt the presence of another, but vaguely. Had they vanished so smoothly? She shook her head. That didn't make sense either. "Show yourself," she shouted, looking around
DarlaDauth: again. "I know you are near. Why do you hide from me, friend?" Her voice had a slight tinge of irritation. She had been doing something rather important afterall.
Chandlers Loss [7:57 P.M.]: Chandler sighed to himself. Another strange situations. What was going on? He wasn't sure, well, not until he heard that voice from way above him...it was a giant, he was hiding next to a giant! But she hadn't seen him yet...so he debated on whether or not to make himself known. She already sounded angry, maybe he should just stay hidden until she left? But he couldn't just stay here...his thoughts flooded his mind. -d-
DarlaDauth [8:00 P.M.]: ::She looked about again, finally her dark eyes falling to the ground. She almost didn't notice the creature, so small it was. Her first thought would be that it was some animal, but she could sense it. It had a soul or spirit of some sort. She carefully backed her feet away, and crouched to her knees, her voice suddenly seeming gentle and sweet.:: "Hello there, little one. What are you doing?"
Chandlers Loss [8:06 P.M.]: After a moment, he heard the sound of her boots moving away, and he looked up to see her shadow casting down over him. He nearly screamed again, but...she seemed to be kind now, and had even come down to his level, or tried to. "...trying not to be stepped on by you, giant..." -d-
DarlaDauth [8:09 P.M.]: ::She perked a thin, dark brown, her lips twisting into a forced smile. His tone seemed almost, challenging. As though the small creature expected to not be overthrown by the 'giant'.:: "Thousand apologies, I'm afraid I was looking at normal sized things, and not searching for ants. I couldn't help if you chose to run beneath my feet, and I was unaware, now could I?"
Chandlers Loss [8:18 P.M.]: "It's not as though I attempted it on purpose!" Pointing at her boots then. "Do you see how easily they could destroy homes!" His tone had a bit of bravado, but his actions, slowly backing away, obvious looked as though he were intimidated, and trying to look more brave than he was. -d-
DarlaDauth [8:21 P.M.]: ::She stretched out her hand, placing it on the sand as though it were a person, the index and middle fingers serving as legs, with the remaining three behind the hand-person's "back".:: You have an aweful lot to say for such a small mouth, friend. ::It was strange. With the difference in their size, Darla's voice probably seemed immensely louder, but as she brought her hand-person into the sand, it seemed the voice came from her hand, it's volume dropping to a level that probably seemed normal for the
DarlaDauth [8:21 P.M.]: small elf::
Chandlers Loss [8:31 P.M.]: But even with her using her fingers, he only barely came up past the woman's fingernail. He watched, feelign a bit strange about how this was turning out, and was going to walk away until her voice seemed to come from her hand. "...I...I have to defend myself, you know..." Getting up, he dusted himself off, now watching her hand. -d-
DarlaDauth [8:31 P.M.]: (Ah geeze, that is pretty small)
DarlaDauth [8:32 P.M.]: (lol)
Chandlers Loss [8:32 P.M.]: [Haha]
DarlaDauth [8:33 P.M.]: ::She laughed loudly. It seemed the hand, the pebbles, even the sand laughed with her. It was no true show of magic, simple illusion, an easy deception.:: And how would you defend yourself against a "giant" like myself? ::Darla had far better things to do, but she enjoye taunting the small creature. And perhaps she could twist this situation into working well for her.::
Chandlers Loss [8:37 P.M.]: "I...I couldn't just give up all of my secrets..." Certainly taken aback at this situation, he suddenly looked back up and down between her hand and her face. "...no, stop! I want to see your face, giant!" Suddenly trying to shake the semi-trance he'd been in. -d-
DarlaDauth [8:38 P.M.]: ::She smiled, setting another illusion in place, as her body rapidly shrunk, or at least appeared to, until she was the same size as he.:: Is this better for you? ::Her voice was taunting::
Chandlers Loss [8:42 P.M.]: Blinking, he gasped and quickly looked around, staring at her for a moment, before frantically looking around. "...where did the
giant go?! She was right here!" Before turning back to look at her. "...Im so confused...." -d-
DarlaDauth [8:43 P.M.]: ::She cocked her head, as though to change one's size was the simplest thing in the whole world.:: I was that giant, but I'd highly prefer to be called Darla. ::She took a menacing step toward him, her dark eyes sparkling wickedly.::
Chandlers Loss [8:49 P.M.]: Taking a step back, he watched her. "...I don't care how attractive you are...I...I won't let you enchant me! You won't trick me, the giant is still here somewhere...!" His defenses quickly falling apart. -d-
DarlaDauth [8:50 P.M.]: ::She shook her head.:: If you think I wanted to enchant you, I'm fairly sure you'd already be enchanted. You perk my interests. I've never seen one so small as you in these parts before. Do you live here on this beach?"
Chandlers Loss [8:53 P.M.]: Sighing, he decided to simply let her have her fun for now. "...no, I don't have a home. I'm just passing through here, I was, until...well..." He let his words trail off. "...what makes you so interested in me? And why have you made yourself my size?" -d-
DarlaDauth [8:54 P.M.]: "I didn't want to frighten you, little one." ::She smiled that her illusion worked so well.:: "I'm always on the lookout for new talent to help me."
Chandlers Loss [8:56 P.M.]: "If you are going to call me little one, I will continue to call you a giant." He spoke firmly, before moving on. "...new talent? to help you do what? I dont carry money, so mercenary work would not be a good idea for me." -d-
DarlaDauth [8:57 P.M.]: ::She laughed darkly, highly amused at the large amount of bravery one so small could show.:: I have no use for gold. I deal in information. One blessed to be as small as you could gather information without ever being seen.
Chandlers Loss [9:01 P.M.]: "...what are you getting at, giant?" Making good on his promise from a moment ago. "So what do you have in mind as far as compensation for my time?" -d-
DarlaDauth [9:03 P.M.]: ::She let the illusion fade, returning to her full size of five-foot-seven, her feet far away from his dis-comfort zone, as she stood upright again.:: Compensation will be up to you, but I'd advise you not to be too greedy. ::She waved her hand, and as her shadow passed over him, a copper ring appeared on the ground.:: If you so choose to help me, use the ring, and I will be able to find you. Your size doesn't stop you, which I respect. ::That was true. Darla respected that the tiny elf was so brave for
be
DarlaDauth [9:04 P.M.]: being so small. Especially standing against a giant with influences over the laws of magic, as she hoped he would assume she did.:: I have other things to see to, but I hope we meet again, small one. ::Her form would vanish slowly, like sand blowing in the wind.::
