A bit over four hundred years ago, a young nymph named Amerie wandered out of the Haven into the human lands of Rysinis; despite the warnings of her sister she possessed the strange curiosity to see the world beyond her own. In Rysinis, she met a human man from a distant land who lusted for her beauty.
Unknown to Amerie, this man was an evil priest of the paegan god, Guir, who saw the potential profitability in Amerie bearing a child for him. He held her in his room and raped her many times, until he was convinced she had been impregnated. Amerie escaped the dark priest's clutch, returning to the Haven and remained in hiding for her pregnancy. The priest, a man known as Tarc, searched for her relentlessly, finding her hours before she gave birth. Her sister nymphs fought a gruesome, yet silent and unremembered battle to stop Tarc. In the end, Amerie gave birth just as Tarc took his last breath. She smiled, passing her child to one of her sisters - battered from the battle - just as her own life ebbed.
This left the child to be raised among her aunts, yet as she grew she felt as an outcast. Each of her aunts had a home, a tree, in which their spirit resided; Marisol had but the decaying remains of her mother's tree that died the day she was born - as did her mother. As she aged, Marisol became bitter toward her aunts, and soon resented them. Over time, the nymphs of the Haven came to hate Marisol and banned her from their lives, remaining hidden from her sight as they would mere humans.
Further disgusted, Marisol spent a few decades at sea, the darkest part of her soul drawn to a land far away called the Tarme Empire. Here she discovered a cult that followed the ways of Guir, a dark diety of nature. To those humans in the cult, they believed Marisol to be a gift from Guir, and a talented geomancer. She soon took lead of the cult, leading a lavish lifestyle for almost a century.
However, she one day became restless of the peons that followed her whims mindlessly. To amuse herself, she set fire to the Temple of Guir, many of the cult members trapped inside, and returned to sea. After months of indecision, she came to the Isle of Dolphins once more to visit her aunts. The nymphs of the Haven were unforgiving. To spite them, Marisol lay a hex on several of their trees, slowly poisoning those trees, and the nymphs who's souls lived in those select few as well.
She traveled into the depths of the Haven, and built a small home there, remaining in solitude for the better part of a century. She had no interest in human affairs until the winds told her a secret about a Forest called Amerca.
She came to Amerca and found an ancient temple hidden in the depths of the forests. Using her connection to nature, Marisol hid the temple further, waiting patiently until Guir revealed his plans to her. And now he was beginning to awaken.
